The project comprised of the construction of four serviced apartments; two inside the existing upper floors of a heritage sandstone warehouse, and two new apartments at the rear of the site.
The loft apartments inserted within the existing structure maintain the integrity of the stone and timber warehouse, disclosing the original details where practical and inserting new elements afresh.
The new apartments extend the solidity and robustness of the original character and bridge the development to the quarry face and car park behind the site.
The approach to the interior design employs joinery as walls and sliding glass panels to give an open feeling and optimise natural light.
