HBV Architects is an established and respected Tasmanian architectural practice combining the best design skills with experience and a commitment to quality. Across a diverse range of project types and scales HBV has developed a reputation for innovative design and the delivery of quality building solutions, which have been recognised with numerous State and National Awards.
HBV staff bring decades of combined experience in the architectural profession and have a comprehensive understanding of the building process. With innovative ideas supported by well-grounded construction knowledge we ensure our projects are properly resolved, thoroughly documented and delivered soundly on budget.
With two offices located in Launceston and Hobart, HBV has the capacity, knowledge and resources to deliver quality architectural services throughout the state.

In addition, our extensive construction expertise, handed down through generations of allied predecessors and practical experience, has enabled us to understand most aspects of the building process and apply contemporary solutions to age-old problems.

Allowing time to facilitate this phase in the design process has become a standard part of our service. We believe that architecture is largely about solving problems. Once problems are initially identified, a process can be determined to address these issues architecturally. It is this starting point that enables the key characteristics of each project to unfold.
HBV Architects has an ingrained culture of putting sustainability principles at the forefront of any given project and we seek opportunities to employ appropriate solutions in all projects where possible. We believe this is as much about the well-being of the building’s occupants as it is about climate change outcomes, as the two are not mutually exclusive. With continual research into new technologies and ongoing consultation with industry suppliers and specialised consultants, we are able build on our practice knowledge base and provide up-to-date solutions. Further to this, HBV has an in-house Energy Assessor as part of our architectural team, which enables us to accurately test design strategies as they develop.
Our Team
All members of HBV Architects possess appropriate professional qualifications and have amassed years of prior working relationships. With the collaborative nature of our design team all inputs are at an executive level and can be immediately translated to the project resulting in consistently high levels of resolution.
